Regenerative Tourism for communities

Regenerative tourism

6 sessions | 12 weeks

18-20 hours

Interested in building your confidence to engage in the policy decisions that affect you?

Are you looking to step outside the conversation bubbles and communicate your position effectively?

This course is an online cohort class designed for communities who wish to engage more effectively in the tourism decisions and processes that affect their futures.

Regeneration rising

You don't have to look too far to find a community that is seeking to build a better relationship with tourism. The push to participate and the desire to be heard are growing as communities push back against top-down policies and actions that don't always fit local contexts.

Increasingly, communities are demanding a say in the tourism decisions that affect them and are questioning the industry’s social licence to operate. At the same time, policymakers often find themselves at a distance, making decisions that they think are helpful but with little insight into the lived experience in local communities.

This course assists communities build their capacity to engage in conversations that matter. It builds understanding, confidence, courage, and the resilience to deal with the change ahead.

Designed and delivered by experts

We've been researching, teaching, consulting and mentoring in what is now known as regenerative tourism for 30 years. We are award-winning educators, community development practitioners, policy advisors and thought leaders. Access to our deep understanding, a wide array of practical examples, and expertise across four continents are some of the benefits of taking our learning journeys.

The thing I liked the most was connecting with people around the world and the realisation that there are plenty of people elsewhere questioning the status quo in tourism and the structure of the sector.

My goal was to understand how the method worked in order to use it for a specific project. This was totally new to me as a method, while I saw that others were familiar with it. I am satisfied about the amount of info that I had access to!"
