Furneaux Regenerosity

A transformative, deep learning retreat on Flinders Island, Tasmania
A Double Opportunity
We're inviting you to a week of regenerative development learning by participating in two complementary events on the stunning Flinders Island, Tasmania. It's a learning experience like never before, including:
-
The Furneaux Retreat (3-5 August) offers an immersive learning journey where theory meets practice in a place-based, community-led context. Together, we explore the theory and practice of regenerative development as a co-learning journey of mind, body, and spirit.
-
The Furneaux Futures Forum (6-8 August) explores how community-led place based collective works through the lens of "Regenerosity" – the fusion of regeneration and generosity. You'll meet the community and tap into place-based wisdom.
Attend one or both events for a truly transformative island experience unpacking regenerative development, learning about place-based community development, and connecting with like-minded change-makers.

Furneaux Retreat: Learn, Connect, Transform
A three-day immersive learning journey
Ground Your Learning in Place
Immerse yourself in a living laboratory of regenerative practice. Flinders Island offers a unique setting where you can see, feel, and experience the interconnections between community, nature, and regenerative development in action.
Why This Retreat Is Different
Born from Flinders Island's globally leading project, the Regenerative Tourism Living Lab (2021-2023), this retreat offers insights from a lighthouse project that sought to reimagine tourism through a whole-of-systems approach. Rather than asking "What can we do to attract tourists?", we asked "How can the hosting of visitors contribute to people, place and nature?"
Join us, reflect and learn about regenerative development as a holistic approach to community-led, place-based development.
Designed and developed by globally leading instructors, experience regeneration at multiple levels: in mind, body and spirit and at community and place-based levels. Our journey isn't perfect, but it is the journey, the wins, challenges, and our collaborative sense-making that provide a powerful learning experience. We're inviting you inside the work to regenerate...
Have Your Say
We are committed to creating a deep learning experience incorporating personal and professional transformation.
We are shaping this experience with you and the local community while also adopting a deep co-learning approach.

Retreat Design
Designed by globally recognised learning instructor, Dianne Dredge, the retreat flows between learning and reflecting, connecting and doing. We've designed it with ample space outside formal sessions for deeper engagement and authentic connection.
Island communities have a unique way of teaching us important lessons. Through Flinders Island's two-year regenerative journey, we've gathered insights we're now ready to share. This is an opportunity to reset, reconnect, and reimagine what's possible when we honor both people and place.
